Thai-English Translation for CR-1 and IR-1 Cases
Since 2008, our Bangkok and Chiang Mai teams have prepared certified Thai-English documents for spouse visa files, including USCIS submissions and US Embassy Bangkok interviews.
Documents We Translate for Spouse Visa
Certified Thai-English work on the documents commonly requested in CR-1 and IR-1 cases. Both categories need the same set, and all are covered by the per-page rates below.
Marriage and civil registration
Thai marriage certificate (Kor Ror 3), birth certificates for both spouses, house registration (Tabian Baan).
Police and court records
Criminal Records Division police clearance certificate, divorce certificate or court judgment, death certificate of a former spouse.
Children's documents
Birth certificates for children applying under CR-2 or IR-2, plus custody or adoption orders where applicable.
CR-1 or IR-1, and which documents does the file need?
Our guide explains how the two categories differ, works through each Thai record in turn, and covers whether translations carry over from the NVC stage to the interview.

When You Get It, and How
Most standard one-page civil records are ready within 24 hours of the quote being confirmed. Longer or handwritten records take a little more.
Standard
Usually within 24 hours for a single-page civil record in good condition. Confirmed with your quote before work begins.
Urgent
Same-day handling is often possible depending on length, legibility and team availability. Tell us the deadline when you send the scan.
Longer records
Court judgments, multi-page household registrations and older handwritten records need more time. We tell you how much when we quote.
Digital delivery
A signed, sealed PDF arrives by email. Suitable for online filing and for uploading to the National Visa Center.
Hard copies
Collect at our Chit Lom office beside the BTS station, or at our Chiang Mai office. Courier delivery is available anywhere in Thailand for an additional fee.
What Can Change the Quoted Figure
The rates above cover a clean, single-page record in good condition. Four things commonly move the final number, and we confirm the total before any work starts.
Page count
Rates are per page. A household registration booklet or a court judgment runs to several pages, and each one is charged.
Condition and legibility
Faded photocopies, dense handwriting and older district-office script take longer to read accurately, and that is reflected in the quote.
Deadline
Same-day and out-of-hours work carries a surcharge. Ordinary lead times do not.
Physical delivery
Digital delivery is included. Hard copies are free to collect at either office; courier delivery is charged at cost.
