Get married in Thailand with one team coordinating the process
Translation, certification, MFA legalization, practical guidance, and an interpreter on your registration day—coordinated as one complete service in Bangkok or Chiang Mai.
One team from document review to registration day
Two couple types, one coordinated package
The starting documents differ, but BTIS coordinates the translation, legalization, preparation, and interpreting stages as one service.
Foreigner and Thai national
The foreign partner will normally need a passport and appropriate evidence of marital status. The Thai partner will normally need Thai identification and civil-registration documents.
- Embassy or accepted marital-status evidence
- Thai translation and legalization as required
- Thai partner’s identity and civil documents
Two foreign nationals
Each partner’s identity and freedom-to-marry evidence is reviewed separately, then coordinated as one case.
- Separate nationality and embassy requirements
- Document wording checked for each partner
- One combined registration-day file
Previous marriages and name changes
Prior marriages or name changes may introduce additional records from another country or authority.
- Divorce records
- Former spouse’s death certificate
- Name-change evidence where applicable
Starting points, not a fixed checklist
Nationality, document origin, embassy practice, and local registrar instructions can change what is required.
- Requirements confirmed case by case
- No universal document promise
- Additional requests explained clearly
From your details to registration day
Send your circumstances and available documents once. We will confirm the likely route before work begins.
Tell us about both partners
Complete the one-page form with both nationalities, marital history, preferred city and date, then upload any documents already available.
Receive your case plan
We explain the likely document route, what the package includes, estimated timing, and price. You obtain any embassy or personal documents that must come directly from you.
Translation, certification & MFA
BTIS prepares the relevant translations and certification, then submits eligible documents for MFA legalization where required.
Prepare and attend
We review the completed set and explain the appointment arrangements. On registration day, your package includes one BTIS interpreter and two witnesses. In Bangkok, our team meets you at the district office. In Chiang Mai, we pick you up from your hotel or the airport and accompany you to the registration office.
If an administration asks for something different
Marriage-registration requirements are not identical for every couple or every office.
We help you respond
An embassy, the MFA, or a registrar may request different wording, updated evidence, additional identification, witnesses, or another supporting document. BTIS explains the request and helps prepare the next translation, certification, or legalization step within our service scope.
Authorities make the decision
BTIS provides document preparation, translation, legalization submission, procedural guidance, and interpreting. Embassies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Thai registrars independently assess documents. We cannot guarantee approval or registration on a particular date.
Marriage registration support: frequently asked questions
- Can BTIS arrange everything required to get married in Thailand?+
BTIS coordinates the document and language stages: case review, procedural guidance, translation, certification, MFA legalization submission, appointment preparation, and interpreting. Documents that must be issued personally by an embassy, government authority, or former jurisdiction must still be obtained by the relevant partner.
- Do we need an affirmation of freedom to marry?+
Many foreign applicants need embassy- or consulate-issued evidence confirming their marital status or eligibility to marry. The document name, issuing method, wording, and availability differ by nationality.
- Can two foreign nationals use this service?+
Yes. Each partner’s document requirements are reviewed separately and then coordinated as one case.
- What if one of us was previously married?+
Divorce records, a former spouse’s death certificate, or related name-change evidence may be required. The issuing country and receiving authority determine whether translation, certification, or legalization is necessary.
- How long does the process take?+
Timing depends on document availability, embassy procedures, translation requirements, MFA processing, registrar instructions, and appointment availability. BTIS provides a case-specific estimate after reviewing both partners’ details.
- Is an interpreter always required?+
The registrar may require an interpreter when a partner cannot communicate sufficiently in Thai or understand the registration declarations. The complete package includes registration-day interpreter support.
- Can you guarantee that our marriage will be registered?+
No. The registrar assesses the couple’s eligibility and documents. BTIS helps couples prepare, respond to changing requirements, and communicate during the appointment. After registration, we can also help with marriage certificate translation if needed overseas.
