Thai Police Clearance Certificate for Overseas Use
BTIS helps Thai nationals and foreign applicants obtain a Police Clearance Certificate from the Royal Thai Police. We review your documents before originals are sent, coordinate the application, and arrange delivery in Thailand.
A managed application, not just document translation
This service is for applicants who need BTIS to coordinate the Thai police-clearance application. If you already have the certificate and only need it translated, use our criminal record translation service.

Let us check the scans before you send the originals
The process is designed to catch visible document problems before an overseas applicant spends time sending originals to Thailand.
Tell us about your case
Send your nationality, current location, destination country, reason for the certificate, deadline, and the documents already available.
Send a clear, complete scan for review
We check document completeness and visible quality issues in the application and fingerprint documents before originals are posted. This check reduces avoidable problems but is not Royal Thai Police pre-approval.
Send the required originals
After the scan review, send the original documents using the route confirmed for your case. Processing begins when BTIS receives a complete, acceptable original file.
Application and delivery
BTIS coordinates the application and follows the case through processing. Once issued, the certificate is delivered in Thailand or passed to separately requested translation, legalisation, embassy, or international-courier services.
Usually done in five working days
The service period starts when BTIS receives the complete and acceptable original documents required for your application.
Inside the five-working-day estimate
BTIS application handling and the normal police-processing stage for a complete file. The timing is an estimate and may vary if the Royal Thai Police requires clarification or additional checks.
Outside the five-working-day estimate
International postage to Thailand, international return courier, certified translation, MFA legalisation, embassy submission, public holidays, and time spent obtaining missing or replacement documents.
Requirements depend on who you are and where you apply
There is no single checklist for every applicant. We confirm the appropriate route before asking you to send originals.
Thai nationals
Expect to provide Thai identity and passport information, application documents, photographs, and any supporting evidence required for the intended use.
Foreign nationals
Expect passport and Thailand residence or work-history evidence, application documents, photographs, and supporting records appropriate to the case. Fingerprint requirements depend on your location and confirmed application route.
Applicants overseas
Fingerprint originals are normally prepared abroad through an appropriate authority. Representation or postal cases may also require an authorisation document and representative identification.
Applicants in Thailand
Requirements vary by nationality and current Royal Thai Police route. We confirm whether your case follows an in-person, representative, or other permitted route and which original documents are required before work begins.
Translation, legalisation, and overseas delivery
The police certificate is the first stage. What comes next depends on the receiving authority.
Certified translation
If the receiving authority requires another language or a certified translation, BTIS can prepare it as a separate service after issuance.

Some overseas uses require legalisation after issuance or translation. Eligibility and document freshness are checked before submission.
View MFA legalisation services →Embassy submission
Where the destination country requires embassy authentication or another consular step, we confirm the procedure and quote it separately.
View embassy document services →International courier
Delivery within Thailand is included. Tracked international return delivery is available at additional cost based on the destination and courier option.
BTIS coordinates and supports the application; the police issue the certificate
What BTIS does
We review the case, explain the document route, check a scan before originals are sent, coordinate the application, follow the processing stage, and arrange the selected delivery and optional document services.
What the Royal Thai Police decides
The Royal Thai Police independently accepts and assesses the application and issues the certificate. BTIS cannot promise a clean result, guaranteed issuance, or acceptance by a visa office, employer, embassy, or other receiving authority.
Thai Police Clearance Certificate FAQs
Overseas cases can normally be handled through the appropriate original-fingerprint and authorisation process. We first review your nationality, location, Thailand history, purpose, and available documents before confirming the route for your case.
Many applicants, particularly foreign and overseas applicants, need original fingerprint documents prepared by an appropriate authority. We explain the likely requirements and review a clear, complete scan before you send the originals.
The review can identify document-completeness and visible-quality issues, but only the Royal Thai Police can accept the application and fingerprint documents. It is a practical quality check, not police pre-approval.
It begins when BTIS receives the complete, acceptable original documents required for processing. Time spent preparing documents or sending them to Thailand is not included.
The price includes the Royal Thai Police fee, BTIS application handling and processing coordination, and delivery of the completed certificate within Thailand.
Delivery within Thailand is included. International courier is quoted separately according to the destination and selected service.
Certified translation, Thai MFA legalisation, and embassy submission or authentication are separate services, because the required chain depends on the receiving authority.
The certificate reflects the result determined by the Royal Thai Police. BTIS handles the application process but cannot alter or guarantee the result.
The receiving authority decides its own document, freshness, translation, and legalisation requirements. Tell us the destination country and purpose so we can help identify the likely document steps, but final acceptance remains with that authority.
